School teacher convicted of assault on a minor
“Grabbed him by his shirt and held him because he was making a noise going into class before the class started.”
Now, I can definitely see assault if the teacher had grabbed the kid by the collar of his shirt and proceeded to throw/ slam him against the wall or the door frame or even the floor for that matter. If the teacher had merely grabbed the student by the shirt to stop him from entering the classroom is a completely different thing. It’s not a matter of abusing his position as an adult in authority, but just a matter of the teacher using his power to discipline a student that was more than likely ignoring the teacher’s position of authority in insubordination.
